Last updated October 10, 2026. Nevisel is made by Causalytics. This notice covers the Nevisel app and this website.
The Nevisel app
- Your snippets, notes and settings stay on your computer. They are stored in Nevisel's data folder: on Windows in
%LOCALAPPDATA%\, on a Mac inCausalytics\ Nevisel\ data ~/Library/. Causalytics never receives them.Application Support/ com.Causalytics.Nevisel - No telemetry. Nevisel does not send usage data, crash reports or analytics anywhere. The "keystrokes saved" counter is kept in a file next to your library and never leaves your computer.
- Keystrokes. To expand bindings, Nevisel watches the keys you type in other apps. To recognise a binding it keeps only the word you are typing, in memory (at most 128 characters, cleared at every space, Tab or Enter), and never logs, stores or sends what you type.
- License keys are checked offline. Your key is verified on your computer with a digital signature; Nevisel does not contact a license server. A key contains the licensee name and seat count you bought it for. The day your trial began is also kept in your login keychain on a Mac, or your Windows user registry, and nothing else is.
- Encrypted notes. If you lock your notes with a secret phrase, they are encrypted on disk. Causalytics cannot open them or recover a lost phrase; only your recovery key can.
- Shared library (organizations). If your organization turns it on, Nevisel reads a shared phrase library from your organization's own SQL Server, signed in as your Windows account. Changes made by editors are recorded in an audit table on that server. Causalytics has no access to it.
- AI assistants. If you connect an assistant through Nevisel's MCP server (the
nevisel-mcpprogram), it runs on your computer and shows the assistant your personal, non-clinical snippets only; the assistant never sees shared or enterprise snippets. What the assistant does with the snippets it sees is governed by that assistant's own terms. - Sensitive information. Nevisel refuses identifiers it can recognise, such as Social Security numbers and dates of birth, but it is not a system of record and cannot recognise names. Follow your organization's rules for personal and confidential information.
This website
- No cookies, analytics or tracking scripts. Fonts and images are served from this site itself.
- Hosting. The site is hosted by Netlify, which keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) to operate and secure the service.
- Buying a license. Licenses are sold by Paddle.com, our reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle collects your payment details, billing address and any tax information under its own privacy notice; Causalytics never sees your card number. Paddle shares with us your name, email address, company, country and what you bought, which we keep to send, renew and support your license.
- Email. If you write to us, we use your message only to reply and keep it as long as needed for that.
