About Nevisel

Every paragraph you have written a hundred times is a minute someone was waiting for you.

Nevisel gives that minute back.

The nurse, between one request and the next. The physician, on the call that decides. The attorney, with a deadline and a client. The one who answers for everyone else.

Their work is for someone else.

A patient. A member. A client. Every minute spent retyping the same careful words is a minute taken from that person.

Thursday, late afternoon.

She types ;stdrem and a space. The paragraph is there, word for word, the way she wrote it once.

She looks up.

Someone is still waiting, and now she has the time.

What we hold to.

Time is the gift.
A minute saved on typing is a minute for a patient, a member, a client. Nevisel counts the keystrokes it saves, so you can watch the time come back.
The words are yours.
They stay on your computer. Nothing travels while you type, nothing is recorded, and the license is checked without calling home.
Fast enough to forget.
A binding is known in nanoseconds; the window opens in under half a second. An instrument should never make you wait.
People decide.
An assistant may offer the wording you approved. Approving, denying, arguing a case: the judgment stays with a person.
For every hand.
The keyboard alone, text up to 250%, a screen reader: one instrument for everyone who writes.

The name

Nevis, in Persian, means write. The ending is borrowed from a German hand tool. A small tool for writing, and all it tries to be.

Its mark is the point of a red pencil: always ready, gone in your hand, so the work can happen.

Who makes it.

Causalytics, a small company in Valencia, California. We build software for organizations that care how their work is really done, and we start by watching people work. Nevisel began there: with the paragraphs written again and again, and the people waiting on the other side of that time.
