Download Nevisel

The latest version, free for 15 days. No account, no credit card. When the trial ends, enter a license key under License in the sidebar. Use of Nevisel is subject to the license agreement.

Every download includes the user guide: in Nevisel, choose Help › Nevisel User Guide.

Not sure which Mac you have? Apple menu → About This Mac: "Chip" means Apple silicon, "Processor" means Intel.

Install on Windows

1. Run Nevisel.exe. Nothing needs to be installed, and no administrator rights are required.
2. The file is signed by Causalytics. If SmartScreen still shows "Windows protected your PC" for a new release, choose More info → Run anyway.
3. Nevisel opens and adds its pencil-point icon to the system tray. Closing the window keeps expansion running; quit from the tray.

Install on a Mac

1. Open the downloaded .zip and drag Nevisel into your Applications folder.
2. The Mac build is not yet notarized by Apple, so the first time, right-click Nevisel and choose Open, then confirm. After that it opens normally.
3. Nevisel asks for Accessibility permission, which it needs to see bindings and type phrases in other apps. Click Open Settings in Nevisel and switch it on under Privacy & Security → Accessibility. Expansion starts by itself.

Upgrading

Download the new version and replace the old one. Your snippets, notes, settings and license key are kept in Nevisel's data folder, not next to the program.

On a Mac, macOS treats each new build as a new app for Accessibility. If expansion stops after an upgrade, remove the old entry in Privacy & Security → Accessibility and switch on the new one.
